03/01/08 - Please Play This Song On the Radio (NOFX)

Apesar de ter lido a alguns dias atrás em uma entrevista do Joe Queer (vocalista e guitarrista da banda The Queers) que Fat Mike após ter tocado no Brasil ter dito a todos que era uma verdadeira droga tocar aqui, apesar desse tipo de atitude estranha dele, ainda sim a música do dia vem do NOFX. Fuçando nos meus arquivos dias atrás resolvi escutar após muito tempo o album "White Trash, Two Heebs, And A Bean" (1992). A maioria das músicas desse album são para mim verdadeiros clássicos do NOFX e marcaram muito minha época de faculdade. Me lembro que o primeiro contato que tive com o NOFX foi através do meu amigo Patropi que me emprestou naquela época alguns CDs do NOFX, incluindo o "White Trash, Two Heebs, And A Bean". Para escolhir uma música para hoje fiquei com "Please Play this Song on The Radio", acho que ilustra muito bem o humor e hardcore que o NOFX costumava aplicar aos seus trabalhos e que foram um pouco esquecidos nos trabalhos mais recentes, se bem que o EP "Never Trust A Hippy" (2006) parece ter resgatado um pouco desse espiríto que fizeram o NOFX ser o que são (novamente, apesar dos pesares).
